Documents Needed to Rent a Car in Morocco (2026)
By OM Drive Cars Agadir OM Drive Cars Published 5 min read

Renting a car in Morocco is refreshingly simple, but three documents are non-negotiable. Bring them and the handover takes minutes.
The essentials
- Driving licence. No minimum licence age is required. EU, UK, US, Canadian and Australian licences are accepted as they are.
- Passport or national ID. Required to write the rental contract; a photo on your phone is not accepted.
- Minimum age. 21 years old for our fleet.
What you do not need
An international driving permit is not required for the licences listed above. A credit card is not required either when the company does not take a deposit — with OM Drive Cars nothing is blocked and nothing is prepaid.
What to check on the contract
- Daily price and total, written clearly
- What the insurance covers and the excess amount
- Fuel policy (full-to-full is the fairest)
- Mileage limit, if any
- Additional drivers, listed by name
- Existing damage noted before you leave
Traffic fines
Speeding fines in Morocco are usually paid on the spot to the police officer and receipted. Keep the receipt; without it a fine that arrives later remains the driver's responsibility.
Exact insurance cover, excess amount and deposit rules for each vehicle are confirmed by our team on WhatsApp before you book — we prefer to state them per car rather than promise a blanket rule.
Ready to book? send your documents by WhatsApp after choosing a car on our fleet page. Our FAQ answers the remaining questions about age, licence and payment.
